"I am extremely disappointed that Bob Hillier has chosen to ignore all the research and data that he has been given by us, and that he has chosen instead to use these ridiculously small numbers (3 children per 100 units) in order to propagandize his transit village." Stan Katz

Stan Katz responds to the quotes from Mr. Hillier in the April 12, 2007 Trenton Times article:

"I am extremely disappointed that Bob Hillier has chosen to ignore all the research and data that he has been given by us, and that he has chosen instead to use these ridiculously small numbers (3 children per 100 units) in order to propagandize his transit village. His attempt to bring those low numbers back into play indicates to me that somewhere, somehow, his stated 1000-unit minimum is probably going to be increased rather than decreased. I have tried to remain neutral during this process, but it is becoming more and more apparent that he is trying to push the scale of this project to a level that very few residents want."

Email to Joyce Persico, Trenton Times, from Stan Katz, April 12, 2007.

"Assuming a relatively child-unfriendly environment, and a 20% affordable-housing component, 1000 new apartments in West Windsor can be expected to generate about 300 new school children, or 0.3 students per unit built; if the buildings are townhouses, we should expect a minimum of 0.35 children per unit."

Email to Heidi Kleinman, copy to the other Members of Council, from Stan Katz, April 13, 2007.
